Change for Children

The Change for Children Team leads on coordination and support for the Local Healthy Schools Programme (including PSHE and Food in Schools Programme), the Learning Mentors programme and Citizenship Education and Community Cohesion

The Change for Children Team offers support to schools to achieve National Healthy School Status, through development and evidencing of a whole school approach to PSHE (including drug and sex & relationship education), healthy eating, physical activity and emotional health and well-being. As of January 2009, 51 Waltham Forest schools have achieved National Healthy School status with all others working towards it, ahead of national targets. The team also coordinates and supports a range of professional development networks.
