National Primary Strategy
High standards and a broad and rich curriculum go hand in hand. The Primary National Strategy supports teachers and schools to raise standards across the whole curriculum.
The Primary Strategy team provides consultancy support, school based and central training to schools through the delivery of the National Primary Strategy.
Key features of our work include:
- Support for those responsible in schools for providing the effective leadership needed to raise standards in literacy and mathematics
- Support for primary curriculum development including modern foreign languages
- Support for wider literacy and numeracy initiatives, including read recovery, communication language and literacy
- Support to meet the needs of the more able child
- Developing the use of ICT to improve the teaching of literacy and mathematics
- Support to raise achievement and promote full inclusion of all children
- Supporting to meet the needs of all groups of pupils eg EAL, traveller pupils, and targeted ethnic minority groups
