Change for Children

The Change for Children Team leads on coordination and support for the Local Healthy Schools Programme (including PSHE and Food in Schools Programme), the Learning Mentors programme and Citizenship Education and Community Cohesion.

The Change for Children Team offers support to schools to achieve Healthy School Status, through development and evidencing of a whole school approach to PSHE (including drug and sex & relationship education), healthy eating, physical activity and emotional health and well-being including anti-bullying.

The Healthy Schools Programme in Waltham Forest

"Schools play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people."

A toolkit designed to help schools to ‘plan, do and review’ health and wellbeing improvements for their children and young people and to identify and select activities and interventions effectively is available, with supporting information, on the DfE website.

The Change for Children team can support your school to audit its provision, agree priorities and an action plan, and involve health and other professionals to help you deliver on targets.
