Changes for Reception 2011/12 Allocation Round – Single Point of Entry
There is now one point of entry to reception for those children born between 01.09.2006 to 31.08.07. All children born on or between these dates will be eligible to start their first full time (25 hours) of education in an infants or primary school at the start of the Autumn Term in September 2011
You therefore have the following options:
1. Accept the reception place for your child at the allocated school and take up that place at the start of the Autumn Term in September 2011
2. Accept the reception place for your child at the allocated school and choose to take up that place after the start of the Autumn Term in September 2011. This is called deferring your place
3. Reject the reception place for your child at the allocated school for the Autumn Term in September 2011
Before you decide which option to take we recommend you read the guidance notes on deferment. These notes will help you to understand the options available to you and to understand the implications of the decision you make.
