Advice and Support
The Babcock School Improvement Service works in partnership with schools to improve the quality of teaching and learning for all pupils from the most vulnerable to the most able. The service provides a combination of the core Local Authority role, services that are focussed on schools with the greatest need, the promotion of schools' own strategies for improvement through partnerships and networks.
Our vision is for every school to provide a rich and stimulating curriculum that genuinely promotes talent and at the same time ensures high standards in core subjects. Our vision is for pupils to enjoy learning and achieve as well as they are able, so that they fulfil high aspirations as adults.
Our services are key players in this work with School Improvement Partners (SIPs) leading on links with every school in the borough. Extensive work is under way to work with schools in providing local services for local children and young people through groups of schools. This can be seen in the work developing in the three area partnerships, the strategy for extended schools and Children's Centres.
