Hillyfield Primary School has been recognised for its excellent and innovative use of the Managed Learning Environment (MLE) ‘Fronter’ at a recent ceremony, winning one of the main awards of the evening for “Innovative use of the London MLE to support learning in a Primary context”.
The event, hosted by the London Grid for Learning (LGfL) brought together the Primary Schools' London MLE/Fronter Conference and the Primary Schools’ Awards to celebrate the best uses of learning resources and services provided through LGfL to schools in London.
Hillyfield’s award is recognition of the hard work and enthusiasm of Hillyfield teacher Andrew Gray who over 18 months has developed Fronter to be a supportive, functional and innovative portal aimed at students and pedagogy change. The Curriculum focussed approach is enabling pupils to use Fronter to develop as independent learners.
As well as his excellent work at Hillyfield Andy has been seconded for one day per week to work with Babcock and the CLC to support a wide range of schools in developing their own Fronter portals, and has been instrumental in the work that has been happening across Waltham Forest over the last 12 months.
This is a great accolade for Hillyfield School and for Andy and a testament to the hard work and thought that has gone into their Fronter portal.
