Research and Information Management
The Research Team supports and advises schools on the requirements for statutory School Census data collection returns and data validation. The service also collects and processes, analyses and reports Teacher Assessment and Statutory Assessment Tests.
The service processes, analyses and reports up-to-date data to support schools review their performance. The data is analysed against a range of background factors which expedites effective school self-evaluation. The service also analyses and reports data on behalf of council services.
The service is responsible for the maintenance and development of the ‘One’ central pupil database, formerly the Education Management System (EMS). ‘One’ is a modular database which means that each school support service accesses a separate module of the database which holds its own specific data but all users can access the same core student information.
